Non-Surgical Facelifts With MyCells PRP at APSARAS Clinic
Ageing can be such a tricky issue – especially amongst women – as some people start to become embarrassed about the lines and wrinkles that ageing inevitably brings. They may have low self-esteem about their image thanks to pesky crows feet, and believe ageing to have negative effects, especially upon the face.
Dr. Thevendra offers an array of surgical and non-surgical anti-ageing treatments, from Botox to Silhouette Soft Lifts, but the most new and effective ways to combat the signs of ageing, is ‘MyCells PRP’ – a skin rejuvenation treatment which uses your own cells to renew the skin and help you look a more youthful version of you.
The main purpose of this treatment is to combat the signs of ageing, without the need for intrusive surgery, although there are many other areas and issues that PRP can address. It stimulates DNA repair, heals scars and makes dry and wrinkled skin look and feel younger. It can also be used for the face, hair, hands, knees and other areas of the body. It is a completely natural process which opts for the most natural of results.
The treatment, favoured by many celebrities, is known widely in the press as ‘Dracula Therapy or Vampire Facelift’ due to the hundreds of little red dots of blood which are present in the procedure. Don’t be afraid though as this doesn’t occur because the treatment is painful – the platelets that are present in the blood play an important part in the process, initially in cessation of bleeding and later in the healing of the wound caused by injury or surgery.
Using vessels of blood taken from your arm, PRP is separated through a process of centrifugation into red blood cells, clear serum and platelets. After adding vitamins and amino acids, the supercharged serum is then injected into the area. The serum is rich in growth factors and natural proteins which accelerate the renewal of new cells, healing and reverse damage in the body.
Platelets, when present in body tissue outside the blood stream, are activated by various chemicals to release growth factors and to release chemicals that attract stem cells to the area of injury. The growth factors stimulate cells such as fibroblasts to produce new collagen and the stem cells can hang into epidermal cells that are normally present in the outer layer of the skin, fibroblasts in the dermis (deep layer of skin) or even pre-adipocytes, which are cells with the ability to convert into fat cells and this is important in the face to maintain plumpness.
There are many areas which can be treated with MyCells PRP:
- Wrinkles around the eyes
- Jaw line
It can also be used for medical and aesthetic purposes too, including stimulating hair growth on the scalp, face and neck lifting and even nerve reconstruction. Due to its anti-ageing properties, MyCells PRP can also be used after peels and laser treatments
The treatment itself takes around 30-45 minutes and most people require up to 3 sessions which will be between 4-6 weeks apart. Dr. Thevendra will determine how many MyCells PRP treatments are suited to you regarding your skin condition although there is no actual limit on how many you can have.
Results aren’t immediate as there will be some swelling from the injected fluid but over the course of a few weeks, or even days, the platelets will release the growth factors and pre stem cells which will assist in more collagen growth. However, results last up to 18 months with touch-up treatments maintaining the effects.
If you want to combat the signs of ageing, or wish to address any of the issues mentioned above, without having to go under the knife, then MyCells PRP (Dracula Therapy) could be the answer for you. Book a consultation with Dr. Thevendra to discuss the process further.
