What is Restylane SubQ?
Restylane SubQ is the brand name for an injectable form of hyaluronic acid specially formulated for facial contouring. Hyaluronic Acid is a sugar that is found in the connective tissue of our skin and along with collagen forms the building blocks of healthy tissues.
Restylane is the most popular facial filler in the world today and has bee used in over 3 million treatments. It has a proven safety record. The result from the treatment is immediate and will last about 9 to 12 months.
Restylane SubQ is an alternative to permanent cheek implants which can be problematic as they sometimes cause infection or move, creating asymmetry in the face.
Although fat can be used to transfer into the face and add volume, Restylane SubQ is the only method available to achieve a similar result without the need for surgery.

Tear Trough Treatments
What are tear troughs..?
Tear troughs are semi-circular creases and / or depressions which start at the nose and run along the bottom of the lower eyelid just above the cheek bone.
These depressions can produce the illusion of darkening around the eyes resulting in ‘dark circles’ or ‘tired eyes’.
As we age, the eyelid above and cheek below begin to sag however the depression cannot sag with the rest of the facial skin due to its ligamentous attachment to the bone of the eye socket. This results in the depression deepening and the shadow and dark circle becoming more noticeable.
How does it work..?
When tear trough deformities are present, an injectable dermal filler such as Restylane, Perlane and Laresse can be used to correct them. Restylane, Perlane and Laresse are non-animal based sterile gel consisting of biodegradable hyaluronic acid.
Hylauronic acid is present in all living tissue and works by attracting water molecules to the surrounding collagen fibres resulting in plumper, hydrated skin.
