Tired Looking Skin: When Does Skin Show Its Age?

Tired Looking Skin: When Does Skin Show Its Age?

To look at celebrities these days it’s hard to tell who is 30, 40, 50 or even 60 plus.

Actresses like Dame Helen Mirren and Jane Fonder are still looking incredibly youthful despite being in their 6os.

With so many lotions and potions on the market, not to mention cosmetic surgery, telling the age of men and women is becoming increasingly difficult, but according to a new article your skin will always give your age away.

An article published in The Cosmetic Surgery Guide recently explained that those in their 20s have the healthiest skin, as it has a natural glow and first-rate collagen support to keep it elasticated.

But as individuals reach their 30s, the initial signs of ageing can start to appear, with fine lines and wrinkles emerging around the eyes and on the forehead, alongside minor skin discolouration in some cases. All the components of tired looking skin.

These classic signs of ageing increase when men and women reach their 40s due to the decreased production of collagen and hyaluronic acid within the skin.

Dr Thevendra explained further:

“Fine lines deepen, the corners of the mouth may begin to turn down, lip volume decreases, broken capillaries become visible and the jaw line begins to sag.”

During our 50s and 60s, most will notice tell-tale signs becoming more prominent due to cell renewal decreasing, and the skin generally becomes drier and sags further when people reach their mid 70s.
